中文俗名:大嘴鯨
學名:Asterophysus batrachus
英文俗名:Gulper Catfish 或 Ogre Catfish
適合之pH:5.6-7.0
成魚尺寸:25-28cm
合適溫度:攝氏24-29度

這是很有趣的魚
重點當然是牠的大大嘴巴囉
只要是牠的"口"徑進得去的~都吞得了
最好是同缸只養這種魚
真得想混養最好養比大嘴鯨體型大2倍的魚才安全
雖然牠很會吃
但是是一種很害羞的魚
白天(或開燈)會擠在一個角落
黑暗時才會四處游動
一開始時~剛入手入缸時
要常常關心魚況
個人覺得這魚一開始不太好適應環境
緊張就會生病
也會吐出牠吃得東西
可以用一些可以躲的物品或是沉木大水草等讓牠躲
公母區分以臀鰭前的那根小黑管距離判斷
距離臀鰭很近者為公~反之為母
另外我發現公魚的臀鰭第一根棘刺比較直尖~整體看來呈L狀
母魚則比較圓滑呈U狀
至於眼睛
一開始會覺得是不是白矇
不過那是正常的
牠眼睛構造就是長那樣
