Dark Helmet很用心的逐組詞句翻譯，但似乎有幾組沒能把寓意翻出來。
其實所謂慣用語(idiom)，往往很難從字面看出意思的。這裡附上例句說明：
1.give them the slip
擺脫他們 (的監視、跟蹤、追捕等)
例：Those guys are chasing us. We have to give them the slip.(那些傢伙正在追蹤我們，我們要擺脫他們。)
2.thorn in his flesh
心中一根刺
例：His wife's death has been a thorn in his flesh.(妻子的死，教他一直戚然於心。)
3.took his slippers to
把他的拖鞋拿去(抱歉，這個真的不知道有什麼寓意。)
例：The dog took his slippers to the backyard. (那狗把他那雙拖鞋弄到後院去了。)
4.sink or swim
孤注一擲(不成功便會一敗塗地)
例：The SWAT team decided to storm the bus to rescue the hostages. It was a sink or swim. (反恐特警決定攻進巴士營救人質，那是孤注一擲。)
5.something up his sleeve (又作「a card up his sleeve」)
秘密武器
例：Despite losing the first round of the match, the player remains so calm. He must have something up his sleeve. (儘管比賽的首回合輸了，但那選手依然很冷靜。他準是有秘密武器。)
6.on a shoe string (其實寫成shoe string、shoe-string或shoestring都可以。)
花了很少錢。
例：He bought the house on a shoestring. (他以低價買下房子。)
7.storm in a tea cup (又作「storm in a teapot」)
小題大作、小風波
例：Yes, I had a fight with him last night. It's but a storm in a teacup anyway.(對，我昨晚跟他吵架了，但那不過是小風波罷了。)
8. in stitches
被點中了笑穴
That joke left me in stitches.(那個笑話把我笑個不停了。)

真費解為什麼要用機器翻出些毫無sense的句子來浪費彼此的時間

2.thorn in his flesh 在體內的一根刺
3.took his slippers to拿他的拖鞋到....
4.sink or swim 不游(泳)就會下沉
5.something up his sleeve 他將要出的(秘密)怪招
6.on a shoe string 很窮 (shoestring 應該是一個字)
7.storm in a tea cup 被誇大的小事
8. in stitches 它會刺(人)
